War in the Kattegat 1939-1945.
A article in seven parts.
Introduction
In the War in the Kattegat 1939-1945, my ambition has been to try to give an overall picture of the scope of activities in the Kattegat during the war, and to provide more detailed information about some ships and aircraft that perished due to some form of act of war. Due to the vast amount of information, I have chosen to make the following restrictions: In the article, the Kattegat area is defined by the Zealand reef in the south and Helsingborg-Helsingör. To the north, the border runs from Skagen and Hunnebostrand in the Smögen area. The second limitation is in the content. Above all, my focus has been on ships that have been left as wrecks on the seabed, but also some salvaged ships are described in more detail as they are of particular interest and some ships that have participated in battles but made it to port.
For those of you who would like to read more about the events in the Kattegat during World War II, it is recommended to read the books, newspapers, and websites that I used when I wrote the article. Another tip is to talk to or visit various interesting archives. You may find these in the references at the end. I have tried to be as careful as possible but unfortunately there is always the human factor involved and I am therefore grateful for comments and additions that could make the article better.
