On March 22, 1945, the motor ship Robert Müller VII was en route from Hirtshals in Norway to Copenhagen. At night, a mine was struck off Nidingen and 9 people died. 15 crew members were rescued ashore at Nidingen.

Today, the wreck lies keel level at a depth of 45 m with the uppermost parts of the structure at 36 m. The foremast is still standing and the aft of the two is overturned over the port side. There is some trawling over the wreck but not much fishing line. There are many details to look at and several of the glass in the valves are still intact. The cargo holds and the aft house offer several opportunities for penetrations into the wreck to take a closer look at details.
