Ransvik is a very sheltered bay if the winds are right. A northerly wind is best, then the sea is always calm inside the bay. Many course dives have been done here, but it is an easy dive site, with a maximum depth of around 16m. It is certainly possible to get deeper if you want to swim over to Denmark. The site has a fairly flat bottom, but there are some rocks to swim around. There can be quite a few schools of fish there to watch and enjoy.
Things to consider: If the wind is strong from the south, choose another spot. It can get a bit rough if you come out onto the cape. There are permanent salmon nets on both sides of the launch site, you should be extra observant of them. There has been an accident here when it was windy and two divers got caught in them.
Enter from the beach and not from the concrete foundations. In the summer, there are often a lot of people staying at the site, so be very careful. There are stairs here, but most people can handle them, at least if you carry them a couple of times.
