In February 1930 the ship was purchased by the Lübeck-Oslo Line and was then named Holstentor.

On 10 December 1944 at 1630 the Holstentor sank in a storm off Halmstad due to a shift in the cargo. The ship was carrying a cargo of wood pulp when it sank. The crew of 12 rescued themselves ashore at Glommen, where they arrived at 21:00, with the help of the ship’s lifeboats and were sent home to Germany after questioning.
