On March 21, 1967, the ship sank in rough weather just north of Kullen in Kattegat while it was on its way from Gothenburg to Stockholm. Before the ship sank, the crew managed to get into the lifeboat and escaped being dragged down with the ship or getting into trouble in the cold water.
The wreck of Homen VI lies upright at a depth of 28 m. The wreck is relatively intact, and there are some details to look at, such as being able to see the engine room through the skylights and an old stove is also visible, but since it is not very large, you can get around quite quickly. Here and there, it is possible to swim through, and at the stern, where the bridge is missing, there is a staircase going down below deck, but here the space is too small to swim in, so one has to settle for peering around in the opening.
